What do we mean by the term “obedience?” All parents, without exception, encounter their children’s whims. Some children are more obedient, but there are also true “rebels.”And when a teenager’s disobedience seemingly crosses all boundaries and begins to cause a lot of inconvenience, every adult begins to look for a way to combat this violent outburst of emotions. But is disobedience really that scary? What do we mean by this word? For us, it often signifies the absence of “negativity” in a child: calm, submissiveness, humility. “Good children” are taught not to bother their parents and other adults over trivial matters, not to create inconvenience, and not to anger strangers. Children accustomed to suppressing negative feelings automatically suppress positive ones as well. They become insecure and feel uncomfortable even in comfortable situations.
