What is field work

Field work refers to work that is carried out on the object being photographed. Typically this includes sketching, measuring, photography, and other forms of workflow.Office work is work processes that take place indoors (for example, in an office, laboratory, or even at home). Typically, office work includes computational, graphical and analytical processes that help process all materials obtained during field work.
Topographic survey
Usually field work associated primarily with topographic surveys. It is based on 4 stages:
- preparation;
- measurement;
- calculation;
- graphic sketch.
During the preparatory stage, the specialist studies all available topographic and geodetic materials in the survey area. At the same time, projects are drawn up, filming network points are assigned, etc. Filming network points are usually fixed only for a while; they should be preserved only for the period of the main filming process. They are marked using wooden pegs, scraps of metal pipes, corners and other types of fittings.
During the measuring stage, geodetic measurements are carried out, which make it possible to determine the planned position of the points of the survey network (for the actual process of surveying the area).
The computational stage is the processing of data obtained during the measurement stage, as well as the determination of the coordinates and heights of points in the survey network. Typically this stage is not carried out on site, but in an office or laboratory.
The final graphical stage is the drawing up of a plan and project based on all the data obtained in the previous stages.
